Accessible Tour

Age 8 & Older

The unique design elements of Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings can provide accessibility challenges for some visitors to the Taliesin estate. Still, Taliesin Preservation is committed to providing tours to those guests needing special assistance. Accessible tours provide customized experiences that avoid these challenges and still allow visitors to enjoy the history and beauty of the site.

We offer scheduled Accessible Highlights Tours — our most popular tour — on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m. We ask that guests pre-book in advance, as tours may be canceled if no reservations are made at least 48 hours ahead of time. Please sign up using the calendar below.

Other tour times and tour types can be arranged with at least three weeks’ notice, depending on availability. Please call us for more information or fill out this form to begin the booking process.

Self-paced tours are offered daily May 1st through October 31st and are accessible.

Other times and types of tours can be arranged with three weeks’ notice depending on availability. Please call us for more information or fill out this form to start the booking process.

Accessible tours are offered for the House, Highlights, and Estate Tours at public tour rates, with children 8+ welcome. All tours start at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center in Spring Green, WI. These tours can take alternative routes to avoid stairs and challenges, ensuring visitors can still experience as many buildings as possible. Visually impaired or hard-of-hearing guests are encouraged to contact the tour department ahead of their visit to arrange accessible tours or additional resources tailored to their needs.

Please note: Public tours are limited to 24 participants and accessible tours are limited to two vehicles or a maximum of 8 participants to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests. Accessible tours are available to any party, even if only one member requires accommodations.

Physical Mobility

Visiting Taliesin’s buildings often involves extended standing, climbing stairs without handrails, and walking on uneven ground. To enhance accessibility, we can offer accommodations such as a slower tour pace, the use of ramps, routes that bypass major staircases, and opportunities for seated rest.

Hearing

Assisted Listening Devices are provided at no charge for all visitors. (Note: Transcripts are integrated within the Self-Paced House Tour).

Service Animals

Service animals are permitted on tours.
