Next Chef Rob Grisham dinners: April 21 and May 19 - more info to come

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

$250 per person

“Taliesin in winter was a frosted palace roofed and walled with snow, hung with iridescent fringes, the plate-glass of the windows shone bright and warm through it all as the light of the huge fire-places lit them from the firesides within, and streams of wood-smoke from a dozen such places went straight up toward the stars.”
:: Frank Lloyd Wright, An Autobiography

Join us for a winter Valentine evening. Imagine. You and your sweetheart drive up to a house near the top of a hill on a sprawling estate in southwestern Wisconsin. You enter a spectacular, but cozy, room. A fire is roaring. Cocktails are flowing and the aroma of a gourmet feast is in the air. You mingle with other guests. So very few. Only those with distinguished taste will share in this exclusive, intimate dinner party at one of the most renowned and remarkable homes in the world…Taliesin.

Featuring Chef Rob Grisham from Isthmus Dining Company, Madison, WI

For his first Taliesin Dinner of 2018, Chef Rob Grisham will create a 7-course menu that gives the guest a true sense of this spectacular place: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin. Chef Grisham’s menu is dictated by his desire to use food and resources that are grown on the Taliesin estate.

The founder and Chef of Isthmus Dining Company is Rob Grisham, a self-taught chef, and Wisconsin native.  He was the Head Chef of Brasserie V (Madison) for its first seven years before moving to Portland, OR, and eventually found his way back to Madison where he created Isthmus Dining Company.

Isthmus Dining Company is a nomadic restaurant concept that serves perpetually changing, seasonally-inspired food at different locations throughout the Madison area, as well as private in-home tasting dinners. It is committed to sourcing the highest quality ingredients, as well as supporting the region's farmers, purveyors, and producers.

In the spirit of Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architecture and Taliesin's rich farming history, Taliesin Preservation is pleased to announce the 2018 Summer Farm Dinner Series. We welcome you to join us for a dining experience celebrating the Taliesin landscape and highlighting the land-use legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Each event includes a four-course farm-to-table dinner with local beer and wine in a relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking environment. Dinner will be sourced from local producers and will feature farm-fresh seasonal vegetables from the Taliesin Farm. Taliesin Preservation will host three farm dinners in 2018, each dinner featuring the produce and harvest of the season.

Taliesin is a working farm and events will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Each event will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, the dinner portion will take place indoors.

Event parking will be at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center with shuttle services to and from the estate.
