Virtual Tour

360VR tour provided by Scott Witte/Tour de Force 360

Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin, Spring Green, Wisconsin

This 360 Virtual Visit is designed to give you a taste of the various tours that we offer. While our public tours are far more in-depth and educational, this Virtual Visit is a fascinating introduction. Interested in seeing more? Come visit the Taliesin Estate in person.

How to view

As you enter each location, our virtual tour guide will share history and information about what you’re seeing. Your view is automatically directed to the current area of interest. Just sit back and enjoy. Once the guided tour is finished, it’s your turn. Click and drag the image to look around at your leisure. Use the mouse wheel or +/- buttons on the screen to zoom in or out. If you want to experience part of the tour again just place your mouse over the Tour Guide button and click a topic of interest.

When you are ready to move on, select the next location from the thumbnail menu at the bottom of the window and you will be taken there. View the locations in any order you wish.

You can stop the tour at any time by clicking the Stop Tour button. Start it again by clicking the Tour Guide button. If you prefer listening to the guide while controlling the view yourself, click Tour Motion Off from the tour guide button menu. Background music can be turned on and off by clicking the Sound button.

Your virtual tour guide is Keiran Murphy, staff historian at Taliesin Preservation, Inc.

The Music

music, architecture & WrightThroughout the Taliesin estate, you will find evidence of Wright's love of music. He saw music and architecture as closely related, calling both "sublimated mathematics" and felt that understanding music makes one a better architect. We sampled several of Wright's favorite scores as a soundtrack for this tour, including one composed by him and his wife, Olgivanna. (“Work Song,” the background for the Tan-y-deri tour.) You can purchase a CD of these and other Wright favorites, Music, Architecture & Wright, from the Taliesin Bookstore online. There you will find a wealth of unique items related to Wright, architecture, interior design and more.
