This two-hour tour is an intimate look at Taliesin from Mamah Borthwick’s point of view in Nancy Horan's best-selling book, Loving Frank. Visitors will experience those parts of Taliesin described in the book; and how they relate today to what existed from 1911 to 1914. The tour includes readings from the book by our professional staff while visitors enjoy Wright's living room, with a stop at the Unity Chapel cemetery to see Mamah's final resting place at the end of the tour.

Ms. Horan explains in the Afterword of Loving Frank that it is a work of historical fiction, "based on events relating to the love affair of... Frank Lloyd Wright and one of his clients, Mamah Borthwick Cheney." The conversations and private moments between Wright, Wright's first wife, "Kitty", Mamah Borthwick, Edwin Cheney, et al., are fictional; however, the major actions, movements, and events in Loving Frank are based on actual events and contemporary newspaper stories; or postulated by Wright scholars and researchers in their Wright studies (including Ms. Horan, who discovered information while working on Loving Frank) .

We at Taliesin Preservation, Inc. thank Nancy Horan for telling a wonderful, well-researched story, and bringing widespread attention to this beautiful home and valley in Spring Green, Wisconsin. In addition, Ms. Horan volunteered her time with us in 2008 for a onetime "Loving Frank" tour at Taliesin. Based on interest for this tour, and in the book, we have created a regular Loving Frank tour available twice a month during our regular season with our trained staff.
