At the Hillside School Structure, TPI was able to:
- Restore the residence rooms of the east wing in the Hillside Drafting Studio.
This project was the continuation of the already completed restoration of the west wing residence room and bath. The rehabilitation of the east wing bath was the first stage of this project and included the adjacent corner dorm room for structural reasons. Foundation and roof framing were completed in this area, along with the installation of interior finishes in the bath and corner room.
The second stage of the work included the comprehensive restoration to the remaining nine rooms in the corridor. The scope of the project included:
- The Installation of new bath as per plans and specifications.
- The repair of the crawl space framing and bearing as needed.
- Demolishing the roofing and sheathing of the residence rooms
- The repair and construction of the wall structure as needed.
- Performing roof framing repairs and structural augmentation (as performed on the east wing).
- The Installation of new roof membrane to match the adjacent roofing.
- The repair and restoration of finishes in the dorm rooms as needed
- Hillside paving/tour pathway Repairs
The stone paving and stairs at Hillside are in very poor condition. The paving and stairs present safety issues especially to our public tours. This project focused on selective replacement and temporary repairs to the stone surfaces.
- Fund the research for a chronology of Hillside (an ongoing project), which will help on future restoration
- Repair furniture throughout the building
At Taliesin, TPI was able to:
- Stabilize the entry stairs and retaining wall at the "West wing"
This project addressed a severely leaning stone retaining wall that runs along with the entry stairs to the West Wing (by the old chicken coops and granary). The wall was leaning 7 inches out of plumb before jacking began.
Fill was excavated from behind the wall and shoring installed to stabilize the it. This work was performed without disturbing the main electrical transformer at the downhill end of the wall. The follow-up to this project was the completion of corrective jacking, underpinning, and stone repair as required.

- Repair Taliesin's "Garden Court" fountain. This fountain, which is one of the oldest features of Taliesin, had been leaking for over a year, and the stone was severaly delaminating. With funds from longtime Taliesin Fellowship member (and master gardener), Frances Nemtin, TPI was able to repair the pools and replace the stone, leading to the sound and sight of water once again in this courtyard.

At Midway Barns, TPI was able to:
- Rehabilitate the floor of a lower cottage at Midway
The lower Midway cottage is a residential space built above what were historically calf pens. The floor of the cottage was in poor structural condition and shoring was required to allow the completion of interior enhancement and the cottage's continued use.

- Re-roof the former cow barn at Midway.
• On the rest of the Taliesin Estate, TPI was able to:
- Remove invasive stands of honeysuckle along the western perimeter of the estate, near the Hillside building.
- With the assistance of the Aldo Leopold Foundation, perform critical Prairie Burns on a part of the Taliesin Estate.
These projects include planning, research, and documentation that are necessary for projects of this scope, and at a National Historic Landmark.
